The Government Working Group on Pandemic Influenza (GWGPI) led by Mr M.Enkhbold, Vice Prime Minister has convened yesterday (November 3, 2009) its first meeting in the Government Palast.

The following items have been put on the agenda on the meeting: vitaminization of economic and health risk group people in Ulaanbaatar City by Mrs T.Gandi, Minister, Social Protection and Labour; extension of hospital beds by 255 beds in 5 hospitals in Ulaanbaatar City for treatment of complicated cases of influenza and pneumonia by Mr S.Lambaa, Minister of Health; and announcement of emergency situation for 2 weeks countrywide by Mr Ts.Amgalanbayar, Head, National Emergency Management Agency. The justifications and financial implications of the proposed activities were intensively discussed by the members and GWGPI has endorsed the proposals and requested the Chairman, GWGPI to submit to the Cabinet Meeting for discussion and approval of the proposed actions.
